Click the link. Trust me.
I’m normally not one to get excited about reading comments on news articles, but trust me, this one’s worth reading.

My Backstage Blog →
Lately I’ve been trying to shed some light on what it’s like to run a theatre (especially how awesome it is to see all of the different shows). This is an experiment I’ve setup to do that which includes photos of shows at the Oconomowoc Arts Center, photos of the facility, and stories about setups, tear-downs, and what it takes to make the magic happen.
There’s not ton of stuff there yet, but...

Five Days Before the Rapture: CDC Releases... →
Someone at the CDC knows something about the rapture that the general public doesn’t.
General Butt Naked - Wikipedia →

Today I learned that a joke in the Parker/Stone Broadway show “The Book of Mormon” wasn’t a joke at all, and is a real historical person, even up to the (spoiler!) conversion to some form of Christianity.
Wow. That Wikipedia article reads like an article you’d expect to see in The Onion, except it’s true:
Joshua Milton Blahyi (born September 30, 1971), better known...

Will Wisconsin's Recall Elections Hold Clues to... →
Recall elections are not general elections. They are usually smaller affairs with much smaller turnout. And since 1926, when they were made constitutional in Wisconsin, there have only been four in the state.
But it would be wrong to lump in the current recalls in Wisconsin with that history. The 2011 electorate is a special animal - disgruntled and unsettled and, it would seem, particularly...

The 27-hour work day.
My 27-hour work day wouldn’t have been so bad, except it was supposed to be 13 hours and for the entire duration of the 27 hours I was on my feet, moving around, and performing manual labor.
Around 5:30am our lead custodian opened up the building and had seen my van in the lot and that on the sign-in sheet I had been in the building since 7a yesterday. She didn’t hesitate to hunt me...

Bin Laden
I was woken up this morning by a phone call from the BBC. They told me Bin Laden had been killed and as my dad had been a victim of the 9-11 attacks on New York, how did the news make me feel.
I came down stairs and looked at the news. Crowds outside the White House and down on Ground Zero, chanting and cheering. Then I read something on the New York Times website. A survivor, Harry Waizer,...
Why Was Bin Laden Buried At Sea So Quickly? →

The reason is bound up within Islamic practice and tradition. And that practice calls for the body of the deceased to be buried within 24 hours, according to a U.S. official, who spoke Monday on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive national security matters.
I just think it’s odd we suddenly give a hoot about what the Islamic world might think of us because of...

Live from the White House. This is fucking disgusting. This is no reason to celebrate. Reserving further fuming commentary.
Celebration like this is exactly what I hoped wouldn’t pop up on my dashboard, but because of the caption I’ll allow the reblog.
I hope everyone in America remembers this moment the next time they get outraged over the US Gov’t...

Things I don't want to see:
A photo popping up on the internet next week of some soldier posing with Osama Bin Laden’s bloody head.
Lots of people celebrating Osama Bin Laden’s death.
People confusing patriotism with hoping their enemies in the world are dead.
A presidential campaign trail atmosphere of “my candidate killed Osama Bin Laden — what has yours done for the country?”
News reels...

Mission Probably-Not-Yet-Accomplished-Anyway
I bet he died a few months ago of old age and all we did was stumble on his grave and then bomb it for the sake of claiming the War On Terror was responsible for his demise.
